An alleged terror plotter who claims to be friends with another teenager accused of stabbing a bishop during a live sermon has been refused bail and is considered an “unacceptable risk” to the community.
The 15-year-old girl, who cannot be named, was charged Friday with conspiracy to engage in an act to prepare or plan a terrorist act.
Magistrate James Vinny refused the teenager bail on the grounds that there were no exceptional circumstances to warrant his release.

“There is an unacceptable risk to the protection of the community,” he told Parramatta Children’s Court on Thursday.
The magistrate said it was of “paramount importance” and found the boy’s alleged express threats to stab Jews or Assyrians and a previous alleged assault to be “seriously disturbing”.
The court previously heard that the boy took part in an encrypted chat group titled ‘Plans’ where he spoke to co-conspirators who were planning an upcoming attack targeting Jews.
Prosecutor Rebecca Rodger said the boys didn’t just talk and knew people who acted on threats.
The magistrate detailed messages sent by the teenager between April 20 and 21.
“You don’t want to make any attack… what about the Jews, brother, what about Palestine? … I’m so cut, I want to do it so bad,” the teenager allegedly wrote in one message.
“I really want to do an attack now because I have so much hate for these kuffar (non-Muslims) it’s not funny, I want to do jihad now,” another message read.
“The messages clearly made the young man want to do something catastrophic,” Vinnie told the court.
The boy’s lawyer Ahmed Dib earlier told the court his client had a history of behavioral problems, lack of confidence and low self-esteem.
He said the teenager played a match to reports of an attack and denied any such plan was afoot.
Two hand-painted ISIS flags were found in the boy’s bedroom when police raided the family’s home in April, the court previously heard.
The boy propped his head with his hand for most of the hearing as he watched from custody via video link as his parents sat in court. His mother left in tears.
The case is due back in court on June 21.
