“I hope I didn’t confuse you with the title?

“I’m not going to lie…it’s a little sad to say goodbye to the apartments. Loved the comfort so they will be coming back from time to time.

“But after hurting my toe in January, it will be nice to be ‘on top of the world’ again.”

Colleagues and friends were quick to react to Gillies’ cheeky post.

“Great opening line,” said 7NEWS anchor Angie Asimus.

“Don’t ever make that caption again, my heart sank!” But it was a nice ending! I’m excited to watch your next chapter of embracing kitten heels,” said Sunrise reporter Katie Brown.

“Man, I was going to keep running with that broken toe line. Disappointed you never got to wear my Birkenstocks on TV,” wrote 7NEWS anchor Angela Cox.

Singer and Australian Idol co-host Ricki-Lee Coulter said: “OH MY GOD I was going to cry my eyes out!”

In January, Gillis explained an unfortunate accident which hurt her toe.

“I had a big, long ballet skirt because I wanted to look good for my brother-in-law’s cat’s birthday. So I had a beautiful long tulle skirt – it was beautiful,” Gillis told The Morning Show viewers at the time.

Gillis said she tripped coming down the stairs at her father-in-law’s apartment in Vienna, but then laughed off the injury.

“I went down the stairs, my leg got stuck and I limped for two and a half weeks,” she explained.

“The pain was so bad that I went and had an X-ray done yesterday – and it’s my little toe.”

The host flashed her x-ray, with co-host Larry Emdur and others reacting to the apparent fracture.

“I was here at the show in my high heels because I wanted to look good for the last two weeks,” Gillis said.

Emdur couldn’t help downplaying the situation.

“Just thinking of headlines, ‘TV Star Fell at Cat’s Birthday Party,'” he said.

“Right—that’s the whole truth,” Gillis replied.
